SEMI-INDUSTRIAL OR INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH MACHINE VERSUS TRUE INDUSTRIAL MACHINE
INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH HAS THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS:
1. All metal construction, all drive components composed of steel or metal alloy
2. Minimum pressor foot clearance of 5/16" that will sew virtually any fabric that will fit in that space
3. Internal motor system
TRUE INDUSTRIAL MACHINE HAS THE FOLLOWiNG COMPONENTS:
1. Weighs more than 200 lbs and takes over a large footprint (most 2 foot by 5 foot)
2. Has an internal belt driven motor and usually requires 220 volt power
3. Does not have an oil pan and pump to circulate oil in the head of the machine so the oil needs to be changed on a regular basis
4. Is difficult to control at slow speeds as most industrial machines are designed to operate at very high speeds

MACHINES COME TO US THAT LOOK GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE
BUT AFTER 40 OR 50 YEARS OF SERVICE, THEY LOOK LIKE THIS ON THE INSIDE
THIS MACHINE BELOW LOOKED LIKE NEW FROM THE OUTSIDE, BUT INSIDE TOLD A DIFFERENT STORY...THE NEEDLE BAR WAS SO BADLY WORN EVERYTHING IN HERE BUT THE COUNTERWEIGHT WAS DISCARDED
WE GET MACHINE THROUGH OUR SHOP ALL THE TIME THAT ARE "SERVICED" BY OTHERS, AND FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE WHAT QUALIFIES FOR "SERVICE" BY SOME PEOPLE. MAKE SURE THE MACHINE YOU BUY, NOT ONLY LOOKS GOOD, BUT IS ACTUALLY SERVICED TO GIVE YOU YEARS OF TROUBLE FREE SEWING. WE TAKE PRIDE IN OUR MACHINES AND SERVICE THEM TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS. COPY OF OUR WARRANTY IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
BELOW ARE TWO MOTOR BRUSHES, THE TOP ONE IS NEW, THE LOWER ONE CAME OUT OF A RUNNING MOTOR. JUST BECAUSE A MOTOR RUNS DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL RUN FOR MUCH LONGER. WE ALWAYS REPLACE MOTOR BRUSHES, BEARINGS AND SLEEVES TO ASSURE YOU A MOTOR WITH THE SAME LIFE EXPECTANCY IT HAD WHEN NEW
WE HAVE SEEN MANY IMPROPER BUSHES INSTALLED IN MACHINES ALSO. IF YOU LOOK ARE THE CONTACT AREA OF THE BRUSH THE FACE IS CHIPPED AWAY. IT IS NOT A CORRECT BRUSH FOR THIS MACHINE
MANY OF THE RUBBER AND ORGANIC MATERIALS ON THESE MACHINES HAVE ROTTED AND DECAYED. BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF A NEW AND OLD SET OF BED CUSHIONS. WE REPLACE ALL RUBBER AND ORGANIC MATERIALS TO ASSURE YOU A QUALITY MACHINE
MANY HIGH USE SPRINGS, SUCH AS THE TAKE UP SPRING ARE SUBJECT TO WEAR AND ABUSE. THE ONE ON THE LEFT IS FROM A MACHINE, THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS NEW. WE REPLACE ALL HIGH USE SPRINGS
HERE IS A BROKEN BOBBIN WINDER SPRING AND A NEW ONE. THE BROKEN ONE WORKED JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU THINK IT WAS OK, BUT CLEARLY WAS NOT
.
ALL OR PARTS ARE SOAKED IN ULTRASONIC CLEANERS TO GET DIRT AND CONTAMINANTS OUT OF PLACES THAT CAN NOT EVEN BE SEEN
WE INSPECT AND REPLACE WIRING. JUST BECAUSE A WIRE LOOKS GOOD, DOES NOT MEAN IT IS. THIS LOOKS LIKE A GOOD WIRE
IN REALITY IT IS NOT
THE REASON WE CHEMICAL TEST METALS FOR INTEGRITY IS
THIS CONTROL SHAFT LOOKS GOOD
CHEMICAL TESTING SHOWED MICRO FRACTURES ALONG THE STRUCTURE OF THE METAL...A LIGHT HIT AT THE RIGHT SPOT AND
SMALL FRACTURES CAN CAUSE MAJOR FAILURE LATER
NOT ONLY DO WE COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLE EVERY MACHINE, WE GO THRU EVERY PIECE AND WHAT CAN BE CLEANED IN THE ULTRASONIC CLEANERS ARE. WHAT CAN NOT BE, EVERY CASTING, EVERY PIECE IS CLEANED BY HAND. WE USE 500 Q-TIPS ON AVERAGE ON EVERY MACHINE, GETTING EVERY BIT IF DIRT, OLD OIL, AND GUNK OUT OF EVERY CREVASSE AND CORNER. BELOW IS THE MOUNTAIN OF Q-TIPS USED ON THIS MACHINE
HERE IS A LETTER WE RECEIVED FROM A BUYER:
Well, I was shocked when I saw the posting for that other 401. I couldn't believe the amount of work, you put into your machines. I wished I had known about ya'll before I made my mistake. I bought a 401A off Ebay a while back, and based on the pictures and that it came with a case. I was told that it had been serviced, I thought I was going to get something great...Well, the case was yellowed and broken, the machine had defects in the paint/and the paint was slightly yellowed that were not apparent in the photos which had been taken outside. By serviced, just like you warned on your page, it still had all the old grease, just more of it, but it was still so dirty and even smelled strongly. Well, I spent another $60 locally to have it "serviced" again thinking they would do a better job. I was wrong. Just like in your warning, serviced is different than restoration and I am a young woman new to sewing and just wasn't wise to this. So after another $60, the timing still doesn't seem right, the smell causes my eyes to burn if I use the machine for too long, it still looks dirty...etc. I have just been in absolute despair over this
